The U.K.’s Leading Art Fair for Emerging Artists to Feature Immersive Art Installations and Exciting Experiential Activations from Samsung, Dell, Liquitex, Blue Moon, Pilsner and More
Samsung to Host the Private View on November 9th Kicking Off the Three-Day Fair
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 30, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Other Art Fair presented by Saatchi Art (“TOAF” or the “Fair”), the U.K.’s leading art fair for discovering emerging artists, today announced its event programming line-up for the New York edition, November 9-12, being held at the Brooklyn Expo Center, including details on new immersive art installations and experiential programming. Unlike traditional art fairs that showcase galleries, The Other Art Fair gives buyers unparalleled direct access to more than 100 local and international artists, many of whom are selling works for under $1,000.
“Our goal is always to ensure visitors to the Fair have an immersive experience with art, not only by featuring some of the world’s best emerging talents, but also offering bespoke activations with like-minded brands supportive of new artists and creativity,” said founder Ryan Stanier. “The Other Art Fair was founded to connect art lovers with interesting and innovative artists and create a space where discovery is fun and non-intimidating for first-time art buyers.”
Street artist André Saraiva, also known by his graffiti tag “Mr. A,” will exhibit limited edition prints created exclusively for the Fair in support of The Other Art Fair’s official charity partner, Free Arts NYC. Saraiva will be signing prints during the Private View on November 9, and an interactive coloring wall inspired by his works will be in the Kids Create space. Known for his concept “Love Graffiti,” the New York-based artist expresses a laid-back Parisian style in his works.
The Saatchi Art Talks program, led by Saatchi Art’s Chief Curator and TOAF New York selection committee member Rebecca Wilson, will be hosted in the Saatchi Art Lounge. Through this engaging program, artists, collectors and cultural influencers will gather to discuss a range of topics relating to the global emerging art scene, as well as investing in artworks priced at under $1,000. Additionally, visitors to the Fair will get an exclusive look at the newly launched Limited by Saatchi Art, a new way to buy limited edition prints from some of Saatchi Art’s most exciting emerging artists.
The Other Art Fair's Private View on Thursday, November 9th, will be generously supported by Samsung, which provides a unique platform for enjoying art with its new television, The Frame. From old masters to contemporary art from the Saatchi Art Collection, The Frame brings world-class artworks from leading galleries into your home through The Frame Art Store.
The Saatchi Art Artist-in-Residence, presented by Liquitex, will feature Brooklyn-based artist Amit Greenberg who has created an immersive art experience centered on the theme of sustainability using Liquitex's new line of cadmium-free paints. Greenberg is best known for his pop surrealism and has collaborated previously with IKEA, The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and Colette Paris.
The Dell 8K Studio will include a live art installation featuring Bryan Valenzuela, whose unique drawing technique involves the creation of images using tiny handwritten words. In addition, the superior resolution of Dell’s UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD 8K Monitors will allow visitors to explore every last detail of the Northern California-based artist's work.
As the official beer sponsors of The Other Art Fair, New York, Blue Moon and Pilsner Urquell will host sampling programs for attendees 21 and over. Blue Moon, a long-time supporter of emerging artists, will be on-site November 9-10, serving Blue Moon Belgian White. Pilsner Urquell will be celebrating its 175th anniversary with a sampling of its traditional pilsner on November 11-12.
Brooklyn-based tattoo artist Rosa Bluestone Perr of Bluestone Babe will create hand-poked tattoos featuring designs exclusive to The Other Art Fair.
The Fair’s official food partner, Neapolitan Express, will offer its signature pizza, while Café Grumpy will provide coffee and espresso beverages for guests.
