Deborah A. Benton , , , Chair

Deborah A. Benton has more than 15 years of experience as an executive, consultant, investor and board member with both young and established companies. Currently, Ms. Benton serves as an Investment Partner at Kaktus Capital, which invests in early-stage consumer branded companies and technology companies that facilitate the consumer experience, and a Senior Consultant for Mitchell Madison Group, where she leads the consumer and retail practice, assisting clients in a wide array of areas, including retail strategy, supply chain management, cost reduction and control, organizational design and operational scaling. She has also held several senior level operating roles at Nasty Gal, a fast growing women’s fashion retailer, including serving as its President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Nasty Gal, Ms. Benton also held leadership positions at ShoeDazzle and Teleflora. Additionally, Ms. Benton serves as a director for TomboyX, The Bouqs Company and Carbon38.

Sean Moriarty , , , Director and Chief Executive Officer

Sean Moriarty serves as Leaf Group's Chief Executive Officer and a member of its board of directors. Mr. Moriarty was previously the CEO of Saatchi Art, which Leaf Group acquired in August 2014, and the President and CEO of Ticketmaster, where he also served on the board of directors. Mr. Moriarty held positions of increasing responsibility during his tenure at Ticketmaster, including EVP, Technology and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Moriarty has also served as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Mayfield Fund and he began his executive experience as EVP, Technology at Citysearch. Mr. Moriarty sits on several private company boards of directors, including Eventbrite and TuneIn. He is also actively involved in non-profit work with CoachArt and the Pat Tillman Foundation. Mr. Moriarty received his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and attended graduate school at Boston University and the University of South Carolina.

Jennifer Schulz , , , Director

Jennifer Schulz has served on our board of directors since November 2016. Ms. Schulz has over 15 years of eCommerce, digital marketing and payments industry experience. Ms. Schulz is currently Group President, Vertical Markets for Experian North America, where she is responsible for overseeing the Automotive and Health businesses. Prior to joining Experian, Ms. Schulz was the Senior Vice President of global product strategy, innovations and eCommerce for Visa from 2010 to 2013, and the Chief Operating Officer and then Chief Executive Officer at Verifi, a SaaS-based electronic payment solutions company, from 2008 to 2010. Ms. Schulz received an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.

Beverly K. Carmichael , , , Director

Beverly K. Carmichael has served on our board of directors since July 2018. Ms. Carmichael has more than 25 years of experience in human resources and employment law at top U.S. companies, holding both operational and legal roles throughout her career. From December 2017 until April 5, 2019, Ms. Carmichael served as Executive Vice President and Chief People, Culture, and Resource Officer at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc. She has also held leadership positions at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Ticketmaster, Rockwell Collins and Southwest Airlines, among others. Ms. Carmichael also previously served as an Adjunct Professor and Advisor at the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma.

Rob Krolik , , , Director

Mr. Krolik joins Leaf Group’s Board of Directors with strong corporate governance and financial leadership experience in ecommerce and digital businesses. He currently serves as General Partner and Chief Financial Officer at Burst Capital, and as Board Member and Audit Chair at The RealReal, Board Member and Audit Chair at Sun Basket, and Finance Committee Member at BBYO. He previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Yelp for five years, and held other prior financial leadership roles at Move.com, eBay, and Shopping.com. He also spent three years on the Board of Directors as Audit Committee Chair for Shazam. Mr. Krolik earned a degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. 

Suzanne Hopgood , , , Director

Ms. Hopgood is a seasoned board member and executive with a developed perspective on leading global trends in corporate governance. She currently serves as Managing Member of The Hopgood Group, LLC and as Chairman of the Board for the Capital Region Development Authority. She previously served as Chairman and/or CEO of public and private companies, including Newport Restaurant Group, Del Global Technologies, Houlihan’s Restaurant Group and Furr’s Restaurant Group, and has held corporate governance positions at Mace Security International, Acadia Realty Trust, and Point Blank Solutions, Inc. She also served as Advisory Board Member of Women Corporate Directors and Managing Director, Board Advisory Services of the National Association of Corporate Directors. Ms. Hopgood holds a Bachelor of Science in business from the University of New Hampshire’s Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics.

Harold Logan , , , Director

Harold (Hal) Logan is a seasoned executive with over twenty years of senior management experience and a strong technology background. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for RepairPal, Inc. and Auction OS, and as Chairman Emeritus of the Board for Learning Ally. Mr. Logan previously served as Chief Executive Officer at BuyBook Technologies, Inc. prior to its acquisition by AutoTrader.com. He has also held executive roles at Manheim Auctions, Third Set Partners, Vicinity Corporation, Pacific Telesis Group, Dow Jones & Company and the Washington Post Company. Mr. Logan earned his MBA from Stanford University and holds a BA in economics from Harvard University.
