The World’s Leading Fair for Discovering Independent Emerging Artists Hosts the Third Edition of its Brooklyn Fair with Artwork and Installations by Local and International Emerging Talent

SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Other Art Fair (“TOAF” or, the “Fair”), the world’s leading art fair for discovering independent emerging artists, returns to New York this Spring at the Brooklyn Expo Center May 3-6 to host over 120 emerging artists from across the globe. Unlike traditional art fairs, The Other Art Fair gives buyers unparalleled direct access to artists, and pairs emerging art with experiential programming, appealing to a new generation of art collectors. With many original works ranging from $250-$5,000, TOAF Brooklyn’s accessible range of artworks makes it easy for art lovers to begin collecting and provides a carefully curated platform for discovering artists.

“The expansion of The Other Art Fair in the U.S. has been incredible. The reception in Brooklyn continues to inspire us and we are aiming to innovate with new and experiential concepts,” says Ryan Stanier, founder of The Other Art Fair. “We want to continue to highlight Brooklyn’s emerging art scene while bringing international artists to a new market.”

In support of Free Arts NYC, the Fair’s official charity partner, popular Brooklyn-based tattoo artist Scott Campbell will be the guest artist for The Other Art Fair Brooklyn. Known for his geometric and skull designs, Campbell has created designs for celebrity clients. Campbell’s ”Whole Glory,” his popular mystery tattoo project, will provide a special activation at TOAF. Through this innovative experience, attendees can enter a sweepstakes prior to the Fair to be selected for a free tattoo, leaving the design up to Campbell’s discretion.  Winners will be announced during opening night.

New York based illustrator Amber Vittoria is the featured artist for the Brooklyn Spring edition.  She will create live illustrations on-site throughout the weekend featuring her signature style highlighting femininity and the female form.  Vittoria’s past projects include illustrations for CB2, Saks Fifth Avenue, Adidas, Vogue and The New York Times.

The artists featured in The Other Art Fair are chosen by a panel of influential art experts and tastemakers to ensure Fair goers are given access to the most promising and talented roster of emerging artists. This edition’s selection committee includes: Rebecca Wilson (Chief Curator, Saatchi Art), Mary Rozell (Global Head UBS Art Collection), Donald Johnson Montenegro (Director of the Luhring Augustine Gallery), Joey Lico (The Cultivist's Chief Curator and Sr. Director of Programming for the Americas), Joanne McNeil (Art and Technology Writer).

The Saatchi Art Talks Program, led by Saatchi Art’s Chief Curator and Selection Committee member Rebecca Wilson, will be hosted in the Saatchi Art Lounge. In this engaging program, artists, collectors and cultural influencers will gather to discuss a range of topics relating to the emerging art scene, including collecting art under $1000.

“The response from the New York art community has been overwhelmingly supportive since our debut last summer. Both artists and buyers have responded enthusiastically to the new concept of the fair, and we are excited to be incorporating more interactive elements as well as site-specific installations this year,” says Rebecca Wilson, Chief Curator of Saatchi Art and TOAF selection committee member.

In support of Free Arts NYC, 100% of net revenue from ticket sales from the Private View event on May 3rd will benefit the organization.
